An exhibition of photography by Danial Gilfillan and a variety of works by the artists from "The Cottage" a wonderful facility offering inspiration and care for our local disabled adults.

Unconsciously Conscious

DoGsWooD

The "Unconsciously Conscious" exhibition by DoGsWooD explores a variety of elements: conscious and subconscious expression, facades, memory, nostalgia, layers and texture. It also examines the built and natural environments. These ideas are captured in meticulous and unique sculptural/photographic pieces. Creative writers in the local community and further afield, have been asked to create a piece of written work based around individual works from the exhibition. There will be a spoken word night on Sat 9th March at 6.30pm. "Unconsciously Conscious" is on show at the Gloucester Gallery from 27th February until 24th March. The Gallery will be open Wednesday to Saturday 10am - 4pm and Sundays 10am to 1pm. Come in and meet the artist and experience this fascinating exhibition.

Official opening Thurs 28 March at 7.00 pm. Everyone welcome. 28 Mar - 21 April Photography Events, Seminars & Workshops. These are being held in conjunction with the "All About Photos" exhibition. A series of free one hour seminars on a range of photographic subjects plus workshops will be held at the Gallery on various days for the duration of the exhibition. Trainspotting'

"Trainspotting" International Photography Competition from the Powerhouse Museum May 9 - 19. Celebrating 100 Years of Rail in Gloucester organised by the Gloucester Business Chamber. Official opening on Thursday May 9th at 6pm, please join us, everyone is welcome. An exhibition featuring 54 photographs, comprising the winners & highly commended entries. Now in its third year, it celebrates the railway industry in six categories including Steam trains; Diesel electric, electric trains or trams; Railway infrastructure; Trainspotting; People in railway; and Mobile phone. This year's competition attracted over 3,600 entries from around the world. From casual observers to passionate railway photographers, the impressive range of entries showcased a variety of styles and interests.

"REMIX" stunning digital art by Maeve Vella, printed on paper, canvas and silk, featuring new works along with selected favourites from past exhibitions. Gloucester Gallery Thursday 23rd May to Sunday 16th June 2013.

Yarning our Country

"Yarning Our Country" is a group installation made completely from yarn. A 3D landscape that is knitted, crocheted, French knitted, wrapped....totally from yarn.  Watch a walkaround the exhibition 


You start by walking through a rainforest, alongside a waterfall and river and bushland filled with animals and plants. You then continue past an aerial view of farmland complete with cows, sheep and a horse stud, and then through a garden full of flowers with a mother and baby enjoying a picnic. 


Thanks to all our knitters, from all over NSW, over 200 people have contributed to the project over the past 2 years. Please join us at the official opening on Saturday July 20 at 2pm. "Yarning Our Country" will be open EVERY DAY Monday - Sunday 10am to 4pm

Rebecca Rath

Focusing on the area of the Hunter Valley, Rebecca Rath takes us on the scenic route through many of the local towns within the valley. Having painted over 150 small documentary style oil paintings, Rath's large installation will take you back to your childhood…. when a road trip meant the long route with many stops until your destination.

Barbara and the Devils

Barbara Stockill

Some highlights of Barbara's artistic journey before settling in Australia from England was exhibiting in galleries in England, Germany, Switzerland and Portugal. Just one year after arriving in Australia, Barbara opened an art gallery and raised funds for the Royal Blind Society. She exhibited in Sydney galleries and became an exhibiting member of theRoyal Art Society, the Royal Queensland Art Society and the Decoupage Guild of Australia. Barbara worked as an art therapist in mental health for 13 years. In 2007 she moved to Queensland where she became on site artist at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary where her love of painting animals developed - and her inspiration to paint and fundraise for the endangered Tasmanian Devil breeding program. Barbara moved to Gloucester in 2011.

Balance ? by Charlotte Drake-Brockman and Fran Wachtel Dec 5 - Jan 5 A thought provoking exhibition by Murrurundi artists Charlotte Drake-Brockman and Fran Wachtel exploring the delicate balance between humanity and its environment. Their creations made with recycled material have to be seen to be believed. Their work is fun, it is whimsical but at the heart of it lies a message. Their deep concern for the environment.
