The HSC exhibition will be comprised of the final Body of Work by 3 year 12 students plus a small number of students from past HSC years. Sophie Steele, Amber Hitchcock and Wendy Fraser (Sansom) have agreed to the inclusion of their artworks for this year's exhibition. Each of these GHS graduate students were selected for Artexpress in their HSC years - 2010, 2008 and 1993 respectively. This year's Visual Arts class is quite small compared to previous years and it was decided to invite these previous students to be involved in the exhibition to be able to fill the gallery. This is not to detract from the current year 12 student's work as they have worked consistently to get their work to a high standard prior to marking in October.
HSC students select from a range of Expressive Forms when they initially set out to develop their Body of Work for their final practical examination. This can range from drawing, painting, photography to time based works. The students have a approximately 12 months to develop an in-depth range of artworks that display engagement with the idea and with the techniques associated with their chosen media.
Despite this year's cohort being small, each student is very individual in their respective body of work.
There will be an official opening for this exhibition on Friday the 18th of August at 6.30, all welcome
